What does split air-conditioner installation cost in 2026?

A split unit for one room costs € 1,500 to € 2,500 including installation and commissioning. A multi-split for several rooms comes to € 2,500 to € 5,000, depending on the number of indoor units. The outdoor unit's position and the pipe length matter too: a wall bracket or roof console costs extra installation time.

In many cases no: at the rear of the house or in the garden an outdoor unit can often be placed without a permit. On a listed building, in a protected townscape or on the front facade a permit is often required, and municipalities apply the rules differently.
