During a maintenance visit the engineer cleans the filters and heat exchangers, checks the condensate drain, the electrical connections and the refrigerant circuit, and measures the system's efficiency.
A single visit costs € 80 to € 150. Advice: once a year with regular use — certainly if you also heat with the unit. Many manufacturers require periodic servicing to keep the warranty valid.
Cleaning the filters yourself in between (every four to six weeks in season) keeps consumption low and the air fresh.
